This year, Fraser Trebilcock attorney Peter D. Houk has been named the Best Lawyers 2015 Arbitration “Lawyer of the Year” in Lansing. Attorney Peter Dunlap Receives Outstanding Achievement Award

Dunlap, PeteAttorney Peter L. Dunlap was recently honored with the 2014 Outstanding Achievement Award, from the Negligence Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan.

The Section’s council selects the winner based on distinguished service to the legal community, recognizing recipients for their high standards of practice and commitment for the benefit of others.

Mr. Dunlap has been practicing law since 1968, spending his entire career at Fraser Trebilcock Davis & Dunlap, P.C. before turning to private mediation practice. He was the President of the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel from 2006-2007, and received the group’s “Excellence in Defense” award in 2010. Seeking Consensus Through Controversy

Why do we always have to wait for the last hour before something gets done in Washington? No, I take that back, Congress exceeds the deadline by which to decide on important issues so they or The White House pass extensions on laws, such the Transportation Equity Act or the No Child Left Behind Act or even the budget so they by time before a decision has to be made. The stalemate on what to do about the debt ceiling is no exception and just the status quo. While the Democrats and Republicans have been talking there seems to be an impasse, where no one is agreeing with anybody, even on the most basic of issues. It seems that Washington, needs the support and guidance of a neutral third party to resolve these disputes and bring some closure to a number of long standing issues, most importantly today, the debt ceiling.
