As proposals for national tax reform topped headlines Thursday, state and national experts came together to give us insight into what things will look like in Michigan.
Attorney Paul McCord was among the presenters at the largest tax conference in Michigan for local, state, and national tax professionals. He joined other attorneys and accountants from across the state at Laurel Manor in Livonia. Paul presented with two others on Sales Tax apportionment, industrial processing, and construction contractors.
The Michigan Tax Conference was hosted by MICPA, the Taxation Section of the State Bar of Michigan, the State of Michigan Treasury Department, and the Michigan Women’s Tax Association.
Over the past more than 20 years, Paul has accumulated a wide range of tax litigation experience, including serving as a clerk on the U.S. Tax Court and as a judge of the Michigan Tax Tribunal. He has represented clients before the IRS, Michigan Department of Treasury, other state revenue departments and local units of government, and has appeared for clients in the United States Tax Court, Michigan Court of Claims, Michigan Tax Tribunal, Michigan Court of Appeals and the Michigan Supreme Court.
