Fraser Trebilcock attorney Max R. Hoffman has been named the Best Lawyers in America© 2015 Administrative/Regulatory Law “Lawyer of the Year” in Lansing. Only a single lawyer in each practice area in each community is honored as the “Lawyer of the Year.”
Mr. Hoffman has also been selected as a 2014 Super Lawyer, an honor awarded to just five percent of attorneys in Michigan in their respective field.
Mr. Hoffman focuses his practice on healthcare licensing matters and the investigation and defense of health care fraud and abuse claims, civil and criminal. He is a Fellow of the Michigan State Bar Foundation and a Director of the Ingham County Bar Foundation and is past President of the Ingham County Bar Association and Administrative Law Council of the State Bar of Michigan. Mr. Hoffman is a Master in the Michigan State University College of Law Inns of Court. He is the recipient of the Ingham County Bar Association’s “Leo Farhat Outstanding Attorney Award” for 2010, and is a former Assistant Attorney General, State of Michigan (1973-1983) and currently serves as Special Assistant Attorney General to the Public Service Commission.
During his tenure with the Attorney General, Mr. Hoffman has served as counsel to various licensing boards, including the Board of Medicine, Board of Dentistry, and Board of Pharmacy. Additionally, Mr. Hoffman has lectured for several years at the Institute for Continuing Legal Education’s Annual Health Care Law Updates and at the Continuing Medical Education Seminar on Health Care Fraud & Abuse.
