Fraser Trebilcock Attorney Elizabeth H. Latchana has been named Best Lawyers® 2015 Employee Benefits (ERISA) Law “Lawyer of the Year” in Lansing. Only a single lawyer in each practice area in each community is honored as the “Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers.
On this heels of this major announcement comes a second high honor for Ms. Latchana in achieving an AV Preeminent® peer review rating by Martindale-Hubbell. The honor is indicative of a lawyer’s high ethical standards and professional ability and is seen as a significant accomplishment as it demonstrates that an attorney’s peers rank them at the highest level of professional excellence. An individual is judged based upon their legal knowledge, analytical capabilities, judgment, communication ability, and legal experience.
Ms. Latchana is a shareholder at Fraser Trebilcock, specializing in employee health and welfare benefits. She is an accomplished attorney representing employers and corporations throughout the United States. Her expertise includes Affordable Care Act Compliance, ERISA, COBRA, Cafeteria Plans, Wrap Plans, Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRAs), and other federal law compliance involving group health plans. Ms. Latchana is a member and past president of the Women’s Lawyers’ Association of Michigan, Mid-Michigan Chapter, past Board of Directors member and Community Service Committee Chair of Highfields, Inc., a sustaining member of the Junior League of Lansing, and a community volunteer.

Additionally, she often serves as an expert panelist for a series of Health Care Reform seminars sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, as well as seminars sponsored by the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Best Lawyers is based on an exhaustive peer-review survey in which almost 50,000 leading attorneys cast nearly five million votes on the legal abilities of other lawyers in their practice areas. Because lawyers are not required or allowed to pay a fee to be listed, inclusion in Best Lawyers is considered a singular honor.
