Jonathan T. Walton, Jr. received his Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan cum laude in 1981. He received his A.B. from Dartmouth College magna cum laude in 1978. His practice covers all areas of complex commercial and corporate litigation and related transactional matters.
Jonathan's focus includes cases arising from commercial transactions, the Uniform Commercial Code, the federal and state securities laws, banking laws and bankruptcy litigation. In the areas of banking, commercial, construction and real estate litigation, he represents lenders, contractors and owners on construction-related claims, and lenders and borrowers in commercial and residential foreclosure matters, large loan defaults and collections, lien priority disputes, and title insurance company liability.
Jonathan specializes in all aspects of creditors’ rights, including secured asset recoveries, large debt collections and bankruptcy collections and litigation. He has expertise in transactional matters ranging from purchase and acquisition of mortgage portfolios and related due diligence, drafting of commercial contracts, business formation, loan workouts and real estate transactions.
