Fraser Trebilcock attorney Marlaine C. Teahan presented the annual Probate and Tax Law Update to attendees of the Upper Michigan Legal Institute (UMLI) at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. This is her fourth time being invited to speak at the UMLI.
On June 11, 2022, Ms. Teahan presented to fellow attorneys on the Uniform Power of Attorney Act, Michigan and Federal legislative changes related to probate and tax law, and recent Michigan cases related to probate and trust law.
Ms. Teahan leads the Trusts and Estates practice group at Fraser Trebilcock and previously served on the firm's Board of Directors as Secretary and Treasurer. She is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and is a past Chair of the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan.
The Upper Michigan Legal Institute provides annual updates to Michigan attorneys on core areas of the law and is hosted by the State Bar of Michigan in partnership with the Institute of Continuing Legal Education.
