Information Technology Technician:

Under the direction of the Systems Administrator, is responsible for maintaining the various technology systems, software and hardware products utilized by the Firm. This includes, but is not limited to, the maintenance and upkeep of all IT and related systems, and software and hardware products. Pay range: $15 - $18 per hour. Hours: 20 - 25 per week. 

Essential Functions:

  1. Responsible for the timely and responsive troubleshooting and maintenance of the Firm's various information technology systems. These systems include, but are not limited to, computers, printers, copiers, door key codes, and telephones. In addition, may be called upon by the Systems Administrator to perform similar tasks with respect to active directory, network, IT infrastructure, cloud storage and other similar items. This also includes the Firm HelpDesk process.
  2. Applies knowledge of computer software, hardware, and procedures to solve problems associated with computer systems, printers, etc.
  3. Shall assist the Systems Administrator with certain and periodic need for the onboarding of new employees.
  4. Responsible to track and inventory all Firm IT hardware products including, but not limited to, computers, printers, copiers, and telephones to determine replacement, supply purchase, or maintenance needs. Shall inform the Systems Administrator of the necessary items to accomplish this task.
  5. Shall be trained and knowledgeable as a back-up on various systems that are managed by the Systems Administrator. These may include, but are not limited to, the cloud, Microsoft Teams, the financial system, website maintenance or telephone system.
  6. Is responsible for the management of the Firm's security system maintenance (locks and FOB's) and recommend replacement or repair to same.
  7. Collaborates with all Firm administrators to explain errors and/or recommend modifications to various systems, networks, software, hardware, etc.
  8. Performs any and all other duties and activities as directed by the Firm, the System Administrator, or other appropriate personnel.

Experience/Skills:

  • Two or more years of education or experience in increasingly responsible information technology, computer science or similar IT oriented experience.
  • Strong general IT maintenance skills involving software, hardware, or networks
  • Strong ability to collaborate with employee classes of all types.
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks and make decisions in an environment of changing priorities.
  • Strong ability to learn hardware, network, and software programs.
  • Strong ability to understand how to correctly handle confidential information and matters.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong organization, efficiency, work ethic, decision-making and conflict resolution skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including interpersonal communication).
  • High performance and a strong team player.
  • Individual must possess the specific life functions of being able to display the ability to learn, think, concentrate, interact with others, and to communicate effectively to be qualified for this position. Individuals must be aware of and able to respond and adapt to change and become proficient in those changes quickly.
