Teahan was the keynote speaker at the January 2018 meeting of the Probate and Trust Law Section of the Ingham County Bar Association (ICBA). Her topic was “How to Mend a Broken Trust,” in which she taught fellow probate and estate planning attorneys from Ingham County how to modify, terminate, and reform trusts that aren’t working as intended, using judicial and non-judicial agreements.

Marlaine was a former co-Chair of the ICBA’s Probate and Trust Law Section and is currently the Chair of the State Bar of Michigan’s Probate and Estate Planning Section. In addition, Marlaine is a Fellow of The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and was named for the 4th year in a row as one of Michigan’s Top 50 Female Attorneys by Super Lawyers.
